The English language has half a million words and well over a billion speakers.  The canon of English Literature is extensive, and can be daunting.

English teaching in the classroom may not always meet the needs of every student.  Gaps in key skills such as grammar and critical analysis, limited reading, inappropriate setting can cause problems in confidence and achievement.  And because English is a core curriculum subject, help at the right time can improve GCSE and A level (AS / A2) and give that extra something when applying for University places.

I was fortunate enough to be well taught at my grammar school in Cheshire, going on to read English at Oxford and to teach in two leading schools - Wycombe Abbey and Farnborough Hill - helping students across the ability range to achieve exceptional results.
